Grocery Haul #8
I know I just posted Grocery Haul #7, but I feel like that reflected what was available in the beginning of the summer - in December when I originally put that post together - whereas this shows produce that is currently in the stores. The amazing berries of December and January are on their way out while rock-fruit is on the way in.

Organic Black Beans - $1.99
Organic Chickpeas - $1.99
Grolsch Beer - 12 pack - $19.99
Fun fact: Beer and wine are readily available in the grocery stores in New Zealand. For hard liquor and more boutique wines, there are a ton of speciality shops to visit. I have not seen a big difference in price between the grocery store and speciality shops.
Freya’s German Sourdough Bread - $3.49
Karajoz coffee - 200g - $7.49
Rolling Meadow Pizza Cheese Blend - 500g - 7.99
Greet card - $4.99
Airborne Honey Manuka/Wildflower blend - 500g - $8.99
Friendly reminder that all of these prices are in New Zealand dollars. The current exchange rate is NZ$1 = US63¢, so the US equivalent is just less than 2/3 the price listed. Also, a kilogram (“kg”) is equivalent to 2.2 pounds. So the red plums, which are .471kg @ $5.99/kg for a total of NZ$2.82, is 1.083 pounds of plums for a cost of US$1.78.
