Life in a Post - Skinny Jean World
I love, love, love that we are finally moving beyond skinny jeans. I was a late adopter of the skinny pant and can’t say I’m all that sad to see the style make way for some new options. Here are a few pairs (both old and new) that I’ve picked up.
Everlane Wide Leg Crop Pant- I love these pants so much I have them in two colors. This black pair is incredibly versatile and can be dressed up with heels and a dressy top or down with sneakers and a t-shirt. My surplus pair are a military green color with much less brown than the website photo suggests. Basically, they’re a neutral.
Also, Everlane has free shipping to New Zealand for orders over US$100. Standard shipping typically takes about 2 weeks.
Levi’s Straight Ankle Ribcage - I love the sturdiness of the denim and how these aren’t really flared at all. They’re the perfect in-between pair and available all over the place.
Everlane Wide Leg Jean - I admit I picked these up because they were on an incredible sale, but these jeans are the perfect length for me and feel incredible. I like how the wider hem at the bottom gives them a little bit of interesting detail, too.
Paige Denim Nellie Culottes - I have a love/hate relationship with this pair. I really don’t like how they look on me. The light wash isn’t my favorite, and these tend to look baggy and dumpy. However, I love, love, love the way they feel. These have turned into my bum-around-the-house-and-be-comfy jeans and I’ve warn them a lot more than I thought (thanks to lockdown and covid…)
Camel Color Cropped Trousers - My pair isn’t available anymore, but I’ve linked a similar pair from FarFetch. I tend to wear these when I’m slightly dressier or want to feel like an adult. If you watched my appearance on Breakfast, you’ll notice that I paired them with a black merino sweater and my leopard print flats. It’s an easy, classic color combo that always works.
