Hi.

Welcome to Bumblemom. As my name suggestions, I’m bumbling along as best I can as I navigate a new culture, kids, and style.

Brand Focus: Kukupa Clay & Crafts

I’ve discovered another small New Zealand business to love - Kukupa Clay & Crafts based in Christchurch. This find is all thanks to the New Zealand Made Products Facebook group that I really can’t say enough good things about. Here’s my YouTube review, and please let me know if you prefer a video format to a written one for future small business highlights. (Also - this wasn’t sponsored or in collaboration with Kukupa. I am highlighting only the businesses that I really like.)

Enjoy the videos and music you love, upload original content, and share it all with friends, family, and the world on YouTube.

I have a confession: I have a coffee problem and like to finish every dog walk at my local shop to pick up a cup. And I’ve been feeling guilty about all of that single-use cup waste. I’ve seen lots of people walking about with reusable cups, but I hadn’t found one that I really liked until I discovered the keeper cups made by Alyson at Kukupa Clay & Crafts. Not only does she make beautifully glazed ceramic cups, but she also crochets color coordinated sleeves for each cup. I am a sucker for color coordinated accessories and machine washable handmade dishes, so I placed my order.

Long story short, my cup gets two thumbs up. I can always tell when my order is up at my local coffee shop because no one else has a cup like mine. (It’s kind of like having really distinct luggage at baggage claim. Remember when we could take flights and had to wait at baggage claim?) The sleeve, while at first I had my reservations, turned out to be a very cute and practical addition. Best of all, I can throw the cup in the dishwasher so its ready to go the next day when I feed my coffee addiction again.
